The Social Studio (TSS), a non-for-profit organisation, that has created a safe environment of belonging to cause awareness and create change in the concepts around migrants and refugees. They are using their sewing skills to make FDA-Approved medical scrubs during the COVID-19 crisis. From the report of SBS News a Victorian Healthcare worker flagged a shortage in the supply of scrubs in hospitals. This initiative was helped by Dr Alessandro Demaio from ABC TV series Ask a Doctor and the TSS Production manager Luka Rey, to put together this cause for making scrubs. The scrubs are either made from 100% cotton or Polyester viscose; can be washed at 60 degrees and over to kill the COVID-19 virus. All sizes are unisex.
TSS are asking for donations to help source the materials and fund the production of these garments. They have two options to donate or obtain these scrubs. The first option is buying the scrubs if you are a nurse or in the medical field in need of these garments. From the link provided below, you click the ‘BUY NOW’ button and it will take you to the ordering page where the selection of sizes, colours and materials are available, allowing you to purchase 1 up to 29 scrubs of one size. A second option is for the people who want to support this action, but do not have a medical background nor a need for a scrub, will press the ‘Donate a Scrub’ bar at the top of the home page. From there you are taken to a page where you have options on the amount of money you wish to donate.
They also have selections on set amounts of money that provide you with the information on what that amount can provide TSS to make the scrub. From this option the Medical Scrubs become free for the workers or become a lower cost.
This a pathway to help out healthcare workers that are on the frontline of fighting this virus. If you would love to do your bit to help with the crisis in time, please use the link below to make a donation of your own.
